The Fall Horse Trials is now a ONE Day

Due to lower than expected entries for the Stone Gate Farm Horse Trials, we had to make a major adjustment to the event schedule.  The horse trials will now run as a one day event on Sat Aug 25th.  All divisions will do their dressage tests before the jumping begins as the cross country courses go through the dressage arenas.  This will also allow time for those who are not stabling time to walk their courses.  Below is a tentative schedule to give you a better idea of how much time you will have between dressage and jumping.
Tentative Overall Schedule
Level Dressage Ring Show Jumping
Preliminary 8:30 1 12:30
Training 8:30 2 1:00
Novice 9:00 1 1:50
Beg Nov 10:06 2 2:50
Starter 11:18 1 3:44
Cross Country to Follow Show Jumping
The YEH, NEH & FEH classes will still run on Friday.  However the NEH & YEH classes will now run in the morning and the FEH classes will start at 3:00 as originally scheduled.
I apologize for any inconvenience the schedule change may cause you.  But there is one ‘up’ side.  If you have ever been to a competition where you would like a ‘do over’  perhaps it’s just a fence or two on cross country or the whole show jumping course now you can   Maybe you would like to try some cross country fences at the next level up but you never get the opportunity, now you can.  Maybe you’ve been seeing posts of the Stone Gate Farm FB page and you were curious about the NEW Mountain Trail Course,  now you can.
With the schedule change all of that is now possible.    You planned on spending the weekend at SGF anyway, why not take advantage if the opportunities? We will offer Cross Country Schooling ($25), Show Jumping Rounds ($10/round) and group lessons on the new Mountain Trail Course ($35) Saturday evening and Sunday morning for anyone who is interested.  Look for a sign up sheet with the secretary when you check in.  As my mother always told me, “if someone gives you lemons, make lemonade”.
With the schedule change I will  need more volunteers on Sat but for shorter periods of time. I will be tweaking the volunteer schedule soon.  If you are able to volunteer, please use the the VIP site to sign up for volunteering.  You will also use that VIP sign up for the Course Decoration so you can get volunteer credit for your time.
Although the entries are not what we were expecting, we are committed to offering you and your horse the best experience possible.  Stay tuned for more information, course maps etc.  With that in mind, if any of you are available between now and the event, I really could use some help preparing the farm.  Thanks
